I’m trying something a little different today…the very first couple’s outfit post on Chyaz.com! As many of you know, Tiz and I have just got back from our honeymoon – we visited Las Vegas then did an awesome road trip around California, with a few extra stops on the way. One of those stops was the Grand Canyon (just casually, y’know) and in this post I wanted to share details of what we both wore when visiting this awe-inspiring place!
It only seems like five minutes since I shared last year’s Grand Canyon outfit post – I loved doing the helicopter trip so much that I just knew we had to do it on our honeymoon. Tiz thought it was just as incredible as I did, so I made a good call on that one! I talk lots more about the experience in my 2017 post, so please do give it a read for more details on the travel side of things.
Let’s start with my outfit (well, it is my blog, haha!).Hand on heart, this is one of my favourite fashion purchases of 2018 so far – this Nasty Gal Playsuit is not only perfect for a desert getaway but unbelievably comfortable too. The print is perfection, the cut and style are right up my street and it’s wonderfully cool and breezy for those super hot holiday climates. I’m a huge fan of Nasty Gal and have been continually impressed with them, even though I was a relative latecomer to the brand.
Now it wouldn’t be a summertime Chyaz outfit post without mentioning my favourite accessory of all time – sunglasses! These Rose Gold River Island sunglasses were my honeymoon go-to pair, and I know I’m going to be obsessed with them all season long.
The shoes in this post are some you may have spotted before on my blog and Instagram page – they’re from Francesca’s in Las Vegas. I bought them on my visit there last year and haven’t been able to find any similar ones since, but it’s always worth keeping an eye out as you never know when something might pop up on Depop or eBay.
Now for my husband’s outfit (I will never get bored of saying that, eek!). Tiz’s style is fairly fuss-free; he likes to invest in great brands and takes good care of his clothing. He’s not one for fast fashion and prefers quality over quantity when it comes to his wardrobe (although he has built up an impressive coat and jacket collection over the years!)
His t-shirt is a classic Fred Perry exclusive from JD Sports, which he picked up the day before we jetted off to Vegas. The chino shorts are Red Herring, and have a subtle pattern on them which is tricky to see as it was so bright when we were taking these photos! I love pastel colours on Tiz’s skin tone and think the lighter shades were a great call for the super warm weather we had when landing in the Grand Canyon.
Tiz’s shoes were an Adidas Neo Cloudfoam pair, which not only look pretty cool but were so practical when spending all day walking along the Las Vegas Strip and heading off on helicopter-based adventures! He finished off the whole look with his classic Ray Ban Wayfarers, which I love and would totally borrow if they weren’t made with his prescription lenses. Knowing how clumsy I am I’m fairly certain he’s happy about that one…
And there we have it – our first ever Mr and Mrs outfit post! I’m not necessarily planning to make these a regular feature on the blog, however if you guys enjoyed it please do let me know. I’m sure I can persuade Mr T to take part in another one at some point, although I can’t guarantee that the location will be quite as epic as the one I had for you today…
What did you think of the outfits we wore on our Grand Canyon visit?
