It’s safe to say that the last few days have been nothing short of glorious – long may the sunshine continue! But if you live in Manchester (or pretty much anywhere else in the UK, let’s be honest) you’ll know that the weather was pretty miserable leading up to the heatwave, which explains my outfit choice in these photos…and my slightly moody expression! Given the general British climate we can always expect a few rainy days in the summer, but luckily I have a new go-to look for that very eventuality.
There’s so much to tell you about what I’m wearing! The standout piece may be this slightly futuristic-looking metallic jacket, but I’m actually going to start with my bag. If you watch my YouTube channel, you’ll know that I introduced you to this new Vivienne Westwood number in my latest video. I will be doing a full post about the bag, but thought it was the perfect moment to show you how it looks in action.
I have always gone for darker coloured bags, purely because I’m the clumsiest person who has ever lived and am bound to damage a perfectly pastel item within minutes, but I’ve decided to break the mould and try to take care of this bag as best I can. I am a firm believer in looking after your possessions, but with something so light in colour extra attention is certainly required! I’m absolutely obsessed with it – keep your eyes peeled for a more in-depth look at this little beauty.
OK, OK, I’m getting to the coat! I had some awesome comments about it on Instagram – I picked it up from Topshop last week and am head over heels in love with it. I wanted a lightweight, throw-on jacket that would match with several different style vibes and I found it in this piece. It’s a longline blazer with this beautiful textured metallic detail and gorgeous folded sleeves. It caught my eye instantly (I’m a total magpie) and knew I couldn’t leave it behind in the store.
I paired the jacket with a plain white tee (fun fact: this is the actual t-shirt I was wearing when Tiz proposed to me in Hong Kong!) and skinny black trousers, along with this cute silver bangle and round mirrored sunglasses. I know I say this in every post, but I honestly am trying to include more colours into my wardrobe besides black and white – stay tuned for brighter looks coming soon!
Now I must mention these somewhat-controversial shoes…these are from good old Primark, and were hailed in the press as total dupes for the stunning Prada pair we’ve seen all over Insta. I have mixed views on duplicates in the fashion world – on one hand I hugely value the integrity and creativity of the leading designers, and on another I accept that most styles are influenced by others in some way. I’d actually love to know your views on this debate! Leave me a comment and let’s have a chat.
