¡Hola! We have just returned from six nights in one of the most beautiful little towns I’ve ever visited – Cala Mesquida, located in the North East of Majorca. We booked the trip very last minute through Jet2Holidays (we’re huge fans of the airline, though this was our first time trying out the full holiday experience with them) and we pretty much hit the jackpot with the location and hotel we chose. I’ll share more details about the hotel at the end of this post, but for now I want to talk about the beautiful swimwear I wore on the stunning Cala Mesquida beach.
Before we left for our holiday, I had to buy my beachwear pretty quickly – it’s been years since we had a chilled out trip abroad (we’re very much city break people) so the majority of my swimsuits, bikinis and cover ups are ancient. I immediately went onto Boohoo, as they are my go-to for virtually anything…aside from knowing my purchases would arrive quickly (since I upgraded my account and get free next day delivery), I’m almost always head over heels in love with everything I buy from the site.
Let’s talk about the swimsuit first and foremost. This is the Thira Certified Mermaid Swimsuit, and I could not be more besotted. Not only is the fit just perfect, but the slogan is totally on-point and it’s damn comfortable too. What more could you ask for? I had been dubious about rocking a white swim piece but I had no regrets with this one.
Next, how can we ignore this unreal Lola Lace Maxi Beach Kimono?! *inserts a thousand heart eyes emojis* Whilst I did spend some time on our holiday wandering round with just a bikini on, I also like to know I can throw on a cover up and feel that little bit more relaxed (whilst at the same time feeling ridiculously glamorous…isn’t that the dream?)
I noticed that there’s only size L available on the site at the moment, but due to the waist tie I feel this piece could be super versatile on the size front. I’d normally go for a size S from Boohoo, but this one was only available in M and still worked wonderfully for me. I even think the L could have been awesome as the nature of the piece is so flowy, and I’d definitely still have picked it up – it caught my eye as I scrolled through the site and for a very good reason too!
Guys, we need to talk about this hat. The Daisy Beach Please Straw Hat is one of my favourite purchases of the year so far – not only is the slogan fabulous, but I found myself wearing it all the time whilst reading or just wandering about. Fashion that’s stylish, comfortable and practical!? Sign me up! I just clicked onto Boohoo’s site to link this for you and it looks to be currently unavailable, but keep an eye out for a restock. I have a feeling it may be back again soon, but understand why it’s already sold out!
As a final note, the wedges you might have been able to see poking out under the cover up were from New Look – I looked everywhere for a pair that I liked, and had to visit two different New Look stores to find these ones in stock. I ended up wearing them almost every night on holiday and a couple of times during the day too, and am pretty sure they’ll become a bit of a staple of my 2017 summer wardrobe!
As promised, here are a couple of quick notes about our holiday itself! We flew with Jet2 from Manchester airport, and had awesome flights both ways as always. When we arrived at Palma airport, we had a coach transfer waiting which took us to our hotel. The one we chose was a good distance away from the airport (the transfer took around 2.5 hours all in all, including the drop offs of other passengers) but we were absolutely thrilled with it. It was called Vanity Hotel Suites & Spa, and as the name suggests each room was a suite! The rooms, food, pool and staff were just incredible, we really did stumble across a hidden gem.
Cala Mesquida itself is very quiet, but that’s just what we wanted from the holiday. There are a couple of little shops and a restaurant or two, but the beach is the jewel in its crown. The water is so clear (there’s no colour adjustment on the photos in this post, it really is that turquoise from this viewing point!) and the sand is just beautiful too. I’d love to go back one day!
What do you think of the white beachwear look for summer 2017? Let me know what you’ll be rocking at the beach this year!
