Hello my little pudding pops. I have something super exciting to chat to you about today, and it’s all based around one of my favourite brand in the world – Illamasqua! I’ve long been a fan of their products, particularly their awesome Skin Base Foundation, and was thrilled to receive a surprise parcel in the post from them last week. At first, when I pulled out the products you can see above, I was looking forward to trying out some new bits and bobs, but then I saw the accompanying leaflet and was even more stoked to share this with you!
Illamasqua have been given the thumbs up by animal rights organisation PETA, and the above products are just some of their cruelty free and vegan offerings!
As many of you know, I’m an (almost) lifelong vegetarian and big animal lover, so this was brilliant news to receive. I couldn’t wait to try out the products, and I’m going to share my little thought bubbles with you today. Let’s start with one of Illamasqua’s most famous product, the gorgeous primer known as Hydra Veil!
I have very dry skin, so on top of my skincare steps I always need to use a primer too. I have previously tried out the Hydra Veil at an Illamsaqua counter and was excited to give it another whirl.
I’ve tried out many a primer in my life, and this one is truly excellent. It takes a few moments to sink into my skin but once it does it helps my foundation to glide on like a dream. Even when my foundation is on, my skin feels hydrated and my make up hasn’t clung to any dry patches (my pet hate!). The Hydra Veil is £32, but when you consider that a TINY amount goes a very long way it’s actually good value for money. The little spatula perfectly measures out the amount you need, and I can see this lasting a long time even as one of my daily essentials!
Next up, let’s take a peek at the Precision Gel Liner in Infinity. I am a MAJOR fan of gel liners, having tried almost every format on the face of the planet, and knowing how awesome Illamsaqua’s products generally are this one was at the top of my to-try list.
Ok guys, I have to be straight with you. This is the BEST gel liner I have ever, ever tried. It applies to the skin like velvet and doesn’t budge. I got the most perfect line without even trying, and using a fairly dodgy no-brand brush too. I have an eternal struggle with eyeliner but – and I don’t say this lightly – I may have just found my ultimate holy grail product. I am over the moon with this! The Precision Gel Liner retails for £20 and in my opinion, it is worth every singly penny. I am so excited to create more extravagant looks with it!
Finally, let’s have a look at the Illamsaqua Gel Colour in Fluster!
As we know I’m not the biggest blush fan (i.e. I literally never wear it) but I still love to give products a good swatch and see how they perform. The shade of this Gel Colour in Fluster looks very bold in the tube, and I was worried it would simply be too much. However, when I tried it out I was pleasantly surprised! The gel colour melts into the skin and the colour payoff is the perfect intensity – nowhere near as strong as in the tube, but a beautiful flush of colour. It’s £22, and with the teeny amount you need to use it would end up lasting FOREVER!
So there is my look at some of the Illamasqua products that have been given the nod from PETA and that are vegan and cruelty-free! If you’d like to see more of these posts, or a look using these products, just leave me a comment and let me know.
