On Friday, I was transformed into my favourite character of all time – Alice in Wonderland! I posted lots of photos across my social media pages, and many of you commented on my hair, asking specifically how I did it. The answer is…I actually didn’t! I had a lot of help from the fabulous people at Regis in Manchester’s House of Fraser – they’d previously asked if I’d like to pop along to review the salon at some point, and the night of the Alice-themed party seemed like the most perfect occasion. Let me tell you a little more about my visit!
I arrived at the salon and was greeted warmly before being offered a drink as I waited for my appointment time to come around (I was a few minutes early in classic Chyaz style!). The lovely Nathaniel was my stylist for the session, and first washed my hair before we got chatting about what we wanted to achieve. I told him I was going to the party as Alice that night, and as soon as I said it he was on the case – I had a headband with me (an Alice band, quite literally!) and he said it would be no problem to work it into the look.
Once my hair was washed and combed through, we moved over to another station so I could have my nails done whilst Nathaniel did my blow dry and started the styling. The absolutely wonderful Femi did my OPI Gel Nails, and I was thrilled to bits with them. She’s the kind of person I could have chatted to for hours!
Here’s how they looked straight afterwards, complete with the cuticle oil – I adore the colour, and it is of course still totally perfect. Top marks! I was really impressed with the OPI gel manicure, and hadn’t actually realised they did a gel polish line until I visited the salon!
With my hair half-styled, Nathaniel and I headed back over to our original station to complete the look. He had curled my hair beautifully, and started to pin it into place complete with my headband. I couldn’t believe how quickly yet perfectly he worked – I was so jealous! I can’t style my hair to save my life, let alone with such efficiency. It means I had more than enough time to get ready once I got home, as I hadn’t actually done my make up. Before I show you the finished look, here’s one more photo – Femi also showed me around their other treatment rooms, where they do massages, facials and other beauty treats. Gorgeous!
So, the moment of truth! I was absolutely over the moon with how my hair and nails turned out, and my look was a total hit at the Christmas party. I wish Nathaniel could do my hair every week! I am still making the style last with a little dry shampoo as I just can’t bear to go back to my usual ‘boring in comparison’ style!
So, what do you think? A huge thank you to the team at Regis House of Fraser in Manchester for making my fancy dress dreams come true!
