When I was in MAC yesterday, the make up artist triggered my memory about needing one and recommended the Nightmoth Lip Pencil!

When I was showed it at the MAC shop, it looked like a deep berry shade – although oddly, the packaging makes it seem like it’s going to be quite a brown shade!

Even the pencil itself looks an odd shade before it is swatched – I don’t quite get how it works! Here is how it looks in the pencil:

However, once it is swatched (or indeed put on to the lips!) it really comes alive! It swatches as a beautiful deep, rich berry shade:

I think this is going to look beautiful under the deeper shades of lipstick that I own – it’s also quite a creamy consistency but really does stay put. All fantastic quality for a lipliner!

The MAC Nightmoth Lip Pencil cost £10.50, which is more expensive than I would have liked but it really is a good quality product, so I hope I get some good use out of it!

I had wanted to find a lipstick that is perfect for everyday wear – I ideally wanted quite a sheer pink which complimented my natural lip colour and just added a bit of a sheen. Both Deb and the lady at the MAC counter recommended Pervette!

I thought that a Glaze would be the best for what I wanted – a more sheer finish which still has a lovely shine to it!

Pervette is a lovely light pink with some gorgeous blue-toned shimmers in it (only slightly!) – I apply it lightly so that I just get a sheer sheen but you can build it up to be quite frosty.

Let’s take a look at how lovely it really is!

This is the second MAC lipstick I have ever bought (yes, really!) and I’m happy to say that once again, I really, really like it. I find that it is quite conditioning and doesn’t dry my lips out, which is a BIG deal for me as my lips are super dry.

I have to say that I have had to apply it quite a bit, as it wears off quite quickly, but it doesn’t really bother me as each time I do it it looks gorgeous all over again!

MAC lipsticks are generally expensive, £13.50, but if I end up using this half as much as I think I will, it will be worth every penny!

When I first applied the nail polish, it went on quite sheer and quite pink! I was confused, seeing a pink toned polish transferring to my nails from a (mostly) orange bottle!

I built up 3 coats of the polish before I was happy with the colour, and the overall effect was awesome:

I do wish that the polish was a little more opaque, but on the positive side is does give you the option to have more of a pink look as opposed to super orange that looks pink in some lights!

I’ve been really impressed with the non-chipping of the polish – this applies to Models Own nail polishes in general really!

The only one thing I would change about any Models Own polishes is the smell – they are very strong indeed! Other than that, just continuing my love affair with all things Models Own…

Unfortunately, my nails tend to fall into all of the above categories, so they’re pretty much in need of whatever help they can get!

This was a very thoughtful gift from my friend Deb – it came in a set with the Cuticle Gel I reviewed the other day. It’s such a cute little bottle!

I don’t know if they do Nailtiques products in larger bottles – I’ve only ever seen them in smaller ones (my mum used to use the strengthening products) – if anyone knows please do leave me a comment!

I loved the way the product applied, and how fast it dried. It also gave a lovely finish on the nails, leaving them looking super shiny and glossy!

I’m sorry for how bad my nails look – also, the tip are STILL stained yellow from a nail polish I used without a base coat weeks and weeks ago – bad move!

The formula did start to peel a little after about a day, but that was largely due to me nervously picking at my nails whilst revising. Overall, I think it’s a great product which works really well – I felt that it conditioned my nails rather than just covering them with a transparent layer!

It was part of the Beetlejuice collection set I bought, and although it doesn’t look like a duo-chrome in the bottle, it has a gorgeous blend of pink and orange tones on the nails!

I really love this shade – it’s so perfect for summer! It really does remind me of its name – tropical sun. It also kind of reminds me of Fruit Salad sweets – does anyone remember those?!

When I first applied it, it actually looked more pink than orange…the orange tones build up with each coat.

It’s a big thumbs up from me – I’ll post a proper review in a couple of days to let  you know a little more about how I got on with it!

You may have noticed that I’ve been a little absent lately – I hope to explain a bit more about why!

University

This has been the main reason I’ve been posting videos a bit less frequently lately – I’m coming to the very, very end of uni now – my exams are next week!

I always strive to do the very best that I can with everything, so I’ve been working flat out to get everything done to the best of my ability. I promise that when it’s all over I will be back putting 100% into my YouTube channel and blog for you guys

I absolutely love and adore making videos for you – I can’t even express how much I love it! Just lately though, I’ve been feeling quite uninspired when it comes to make up tutorials…I feel that I’ve done SO many that it’s sometimes hard to be super creative and original. I promise that over the summer I will try to make more of them, and make them the best that I can.

I’m not a professional make up artist, or even close – I just make them for fun and hope that you guys enjoy them. Once I get some inspiration back I really will try to fulfil more of your requests, I promise!

ALSO – Throughout the entire month of June, I will be making a vlog every day on my vlog channel – http://www.youtube.com/user/chyazvlogs - I am SO excited to do this! The series will be called JuneVlog. I will be filming each day and hopefully posting them daily too – there may be times when that’s tricky and there will be two in one day as a catch up, but I’ll try!

Life

I’m incredibly excited to be moving back home after uni finishes – I will be back to living 5 minuets away from Tiz instead of 1.5 hours, and will be back in my lovely pink room!

At some point in the future, Tiz and I will hopefully be moving in together – there are no solid plans as of yet, so watch this space!

Life…Post-University

So now, the question that so many people have been asking me…what do I plan to do after uni? I’m a firm believer in following your dreams, and during my time at uni I’ve realised what one of my true passions is – TV presenting! I would love to work in children’s television, but would equally love any presenting opportunity I can have. I’m going to be working VERY hard to make my dreams a reality!

Fitness

Over the past few months, I’ve really let my fitness levels drop – the stress of finishing uni has taken its toll! As soon as I get home in a week or so, I’m joining the gym again and plan to get as fit and healthy as possible.

Weight loss isn’t my main goal, fitness is – weight loss will come along with that, but I just want to be healthy and toned. I’m also going to be trying to eat better – I’m not good at denying myself things, so everything in moderation. I’m sure you’ll see some of this in action in my vlogs!

Exciting ventures…

I have a few exciting ventures in the pipeline which I’m going to keep quiet for now…all I can say is watch this space! I’m feeling very positive about the future and excited to share more with you all.

But for now, I leave you all with a big sloppy kiss and promise that I’ll be back properly soon!

A few months ago my lovely friend Deb got me a set of Nailtiques goodies for my birthday – I thought it was about time to try them out, and decided to review the Nailtiques Cuticle and Skin Gel today!

I had been a little confused about how to use this product, but looked up some instructions for it and got to work!

First, I removed any nail polish on my nails and made sure my nails were super clean, with no trace of nail polish remover on them. I then took tiny dabs of the gel and massaged it into my cuticles until it sank in!

After I overcame how odd it felt to be putting cream on my actual nails, I realised how awesome this product is! The gel actually sinks into your nails and the skin around them, which is great as I was worried that it would become oily and just sit there on top.

Once it has sunk in, your nails feel smooth and conditioned,which makes a perfect base for then applying a nail strengthening product! Watch this space for a review along those lines coming up tomorrow…

All in all, I’m super impressed with the Nailtiques Cuticle and Skin Gel and will be using it again for sure!

Feel free to check out my MUA Lip Boom review from yesterday – for now, here’s my review of the MUA Lip Boom in LMK!

This is a much darker berry shade than the one I showed you guys yesterday, and I was so excited to try it out!

LMK stands for Let Me Know, and it again created in association with Alexandra Burke!

I still can’t quite get over how genius the packaging of the Lip Boom is! When I first took the lipstick out of the tube, I was slightly worried at how dark it looked and whether it would suit my skin tone…

Here are my lips with just the berry lipstick on – for the record,  I ended up loving the shade even on its own!

I do apologise for the dodgy-looking application! I don’t own a lip pencil dark enough to use with the lipstick so the edges look a little sloppy.

I then applied the glittery lipgloss over the top and…BOOM!

I just don’t think I could be any more in LOVE with these products! They are without a doubt the best bargain – at only £3 each – and the most beautiful-looking lip products I think I’ve ever used.

This review will be of the first one I’ve tried – the MUA Lip Boom in It’s A Situation.

The range has been created in association with the gorgeous Alexandra Burke and she graces the packaging of each Lip Boom!

The basic idea of the Lip Boom is that it contains both a lipstick and a super shiny gloss to go over the top. Here’s how it works:

I love clever packaging – who thought that all that loveliness could fit into one compact tube?!

I decided to take photos at the different stages of applying the Lip Boom. First of all, here are my lips with just the lipstick on:

I just ADORE the shade! Please note how gorgeous it looks on its own, and prepare yourself for the amazing image that is about to come your way…

THIS is what I have always wanted my lips to look like! The look oozes glamour, makes your lips look huge and is quite simply stunning. All this for just £3!

MUA, you have rendered me speechless, which is so small task. I am so deeply in love with the Lip Booms! I feel like it’s a product I’ve been waiting for without even realising it. Just heavenly!

I can’t wait to review the next one I bought!
