Review: Max Factor Lipstick in Midnight Mauve #711

It feels like yesterday that I reviewed the Max Factor Lipstick in Plush Blush (which I loved!) and now it’s the turn of Midnight Mauve. This was another product given to me by celebrity make up artist Caroline Frazer, very kindly I might add!

Max Factor Lipstick in Midnight Mauve

I have to admit that I think the name is a little misleading – when I think of mauve, I think of a more purple/lilac shade whereas this is much more of a pink – but gorgeous nonetheless.

I was previously super impressed with how creamy and moisturising Plush Blush was (I have very dry lips, so this is a must for me when it comes to lipstick!). I applied the lipstick without lipliner to really put it to the test.

I adore how wearable this is – I have to admit that I sometimes feel self-conscious wearing lipstick when I’m out and about. But I could honestly say that I would feel fine wearing this even for a quick trip to the supermarket.

I mentioned last time that I thought the lipsticks were a little pricey at £7.99 – some of this sentiment still sticks, but on the other hand you could end up buying dozens of shades that you rarely wear as they are too bold for every day life instead of one or two that are wearable. Don’t get me wrong though – I’m still a huge fan of bold colours!

This lipstick is much less sheer than Plush Blush, which is a plus point for many. What do you think of Midnight Mauve for an everyday lipstick?

I think this works perfect for everyday wear. Its not too plain, but not too bold either. Its. The perfect balance for everyday wear =]
