Review: MUA Professional Extreme Felt Eyeliner in Black

It’s no secret that I love MUA Cosmetics, and recently they very kindly offered to send me a little bundle of goodies to try out and review. I’m currently working my way through them (so expect some MUA reviews in the near future!) but today I wanted to try out and review the MUA Professional Extreme Felt Eyeliner in Black.

I think I have only previously tried one felt eyeliner, and I don’t remember being particularly impressed with it – the brush wasn’t sturdy and it was awkward to apply. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this MUA one; the felt tip was firm but moveable, and allowed me to create a super fine line along the upper lash line, which I am rarely able to do with other products.

My eye shape requires me to be able to get that ultra fine line – my right eyelid is slightly less taught than my left, so I need to be able to vary the thickness of eyeliner in order to make my eye shapes look symmetrical.

After the first coat of the eyeliner, my eyes looked defined but it took two coats to get a really bold black line. But, as it retails for £2 from Superdrug, it doesn’t really matter if you use a couple of layers of the product each time.

Because the pen varies in thickness from base to tip, it’s an ideal shape for creating a gorgeous flick on the outer corner of the eye: just tilt the pen on to its side when you’re approaching the outer corner to get the ‘triangular’ effect.

My one small criticism of this product is that you have to get the pen ‘working’ first before it becomes loose enough to control it just how you want, but that only takes a matter of seconds. Overall, I really don’t think you can go wrong paying £2 for a thoroughly decent eyeliner!

Stay Creative,

For £2 the finish of this is fantastic! Was it long lasting?

I was going to purchase Barry M’s Wink marker pen but after seeing this I think it’s worth me saving the extra £2.50. Thanks for this review. 🙂

I hate these pen liners! D: I have a MAC one and I find it really hard to use and it’s never black enough! Liquid ang gel liners are way easier to use, very pigmented and more precise application, that’s what I think. =P
