I know, I know. It’s been a minute. I was pretty shocked to look this morning and realise I hadn’t posted on here since July, but today I shall correct that. It’s time for a (not so) little life update…
If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram or my YouTube channel, you’ll know that Tiz and I made the decision to finally get a mortgage and buy our own place! We’d been renting for 3 and a half years and the time was definitely right for us. We’re still in Manchester city centre and with a lot of determination and a healthy dose of sheer luck, we managed to find our dream apartment. It has taken up the vast majority of our free time for the past couple of months but it’s totally worth it – that’s the main reason I’ve been a little quieter online. We’re getting there with everything, and I’m getting particularly excited about my office – the desk/pen tidy above was a gift to myself from Not On The High Street, which has become my go-to destination for home accessories!
I am going to be filming some individual room tours on my channel in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re into all-things-decor!
In my latest YouTube video, I talked openly and emotionally about something incredibly difficult – the tragic death of my dear friend Laura-Lisa. She passed away in April and although I had spoken about her on social media, it took me longer to be able to discuss it on camera. Laura-Lisa was my biggest supporter from day one, and since she’s been gone I felt that my channel had a crucial part of it missing. Making videos didn’t seem quite right, and I explain more about the reasons why in the video. I hope it was a fitting tribute to a wonderful person, whom I miss dearly. There will never be anyone quite like her again in this world <3
It has been a busy few months work-wise too! As most of you know I am Simple’s brand ambassador, which I love, plus I’ve had lots of extra work on the go too! I am now represented by Urban Talent as a presenter and actor (more on that in a moment!) and I’ve taken on lots of other gigs, from a bit of modelling (the above shot is from a recent shoot with Joanie Clothing, which I am very excited about) to continuing my weekly slots presenting the news on That’s Manchester. Variety is certainly the spice of life, and I have so many awesome projects coming up that I can’t wait to share with you too.
Let’s talk about acting…
Couldn’t start this one without its own subtitle, could I? Earlier this year, I made the decision to start acting lessons – I had wanted to do it for YEARS, since school, but I’d never felt encouraged to do so. The drama scene at my school was, well, full of drama (not in a good way) and I never felt welcome there despite having a real hidden passion for acting. A few months ago I was thinking more about my life motto, “Touch The Cow, Do It Now!” (which I explain in full here…it’s the kind of thing that needs an explanation, haha!) and decided to go for it. I signed up to Manchester Hub Drama and haven’t looked back. It’s an excellent school with amazing coaches and I’m loving each week more than the last. Watch this space!
How have you all been? Please do leave me a comment and let me know! I love to hear from you all.
Thanks for stopping by, speak soon!
