Don’t panic – I haven’t decided to ditch my blonde locks (several people on YouTube have told me there will be serious consequences if I ever decide to dye/cut my hair!!) but my gorgeous sister Steph has! Unlike me, she is absolutely able to pull off both lighter and darker hair, and when she decided to make the big change from blonde to brown hair, I couldn’t resist asking her a few questions along the way!
This isn’t going to be a specific review of a product, but just so you know, Steph used the John Frieda Precision Foam Colour in 5G – Medium Golden Brown.
So, let’s get started with the process!
How long have you been blonde, Steph?
Oh God…on and off for ages! How long has it been? At least 6 years.
Why do you want the change?
I get bored of my appearance quite easily, and like the excitement of looking different. I also feel like the blonde hair makes me look really young, and I want to feel and look more my age, 18.
Are you nervous?
A little bit, but more excited! I know it is a big change, and that I’ll look completely different. People think that if you change your hair colour, you’ll act differently – but it’s just a colour! You change it back if you don’t like it, so I’m more excited than nervous.
How do you feel?
Grand! I feel fresh and shiny – and so does my hair!
Are you relieved?
I’m relieved that it’s come out really well – it’s always a tense time! I’ve dyed my hair myself before but never using the foam formula, so I’m glad that it worked out well.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to make the change from blonde to brown hair?
Bite the bullet – it’s a really good feeling! And, at the end of the day – it’s only hair.
But gorgeous hair at that, Steph!
Are you planning a big hair change? Let me know in the comments! Thanks to Steph for letting me document her hair transformation.
