Today’s review has a little twist – I’m going to be looking at the hottest beauty box around, Cohorted, but rather than reviewing one entire box (and arguably spoiling the surprise about everything it contains!) I’m going to be picking out a few key pieces from the past two boxes to showcase. I think you will be as utterly bowled over as I was…
Beauty boxes are nothing new, and when I first received a Cohorted box in the post I was initially a little blasé about it. I was expecting the usual perfume samples, tiny pots of minimally labelled goo and an eyeliner from a brand I thought had gone out of business years ago. But Cohorted isn’t your average beauty box. You will literally not believe the kind of products contained within this mysterious black box of wonder…
Let’s begin with a bang!
Your eyes do not deceive you. That is a full sized, real life Chanel eyeshadow – in fact, the first Chanel beauty product I’ve owned aside from perfume! I think I actually did a little gasp when I saw it hidden amongst the black shredded paper, nestled amongst some other huge name brands but standing out in a league of its own. Never in a million years did I think I’d find something like this in a beauty box, but there you go. Beauty dreams do come true!
This was featured in the second box I received…so what was in the first? Prepare yourselves…
I kid you not! A full sized Too Faced Soul Mates bronzer in all its gloriously beautiful packaging. I thought it was to good to be true at first, and expected a tiny sample product inside the box, but lo and behold it was the regular sized pan! Too Faced get top marks from me as a brand all round, and I have been meaning to try more of their goodies for a long time now – this provided me with the perfect opportunity. (As a side note, I am planning to do some individual reviews of these products on the blog soon so keep your eyes out!)
After spotting this beauty in the first box that arrived at my door, I didn’t expect that it could be topped, especially within the same box. But then…
A SECOND Too Faced product! This time it’s the Lip Injection Color Bomb lip tint in the most gorgeous pink shade you have ever seen. What is life?! I was honestly a little bit gobsmacked – the Cohorted box puts others to shame. Yes, the box retails for £35 a pop, but when you’re getting full sized products from incredible brands it’s almost impossible to complain. In the second box I received (which contained the Chanel eyeshadow) the total value of the products reached £111.50. Yep, over £100!
To round off, here’s another product that was featured in that second box alongside the Chanel shadow.
A set of four Cargo lip glosses! The reason I was excited about this product was partly due to the sleek packaging, and the fact you get four products in one, but also due to the unusual shades. Every beauty fan owns a million pink glosses, so this offered something different – especially given the huge brown-toned lip shade trend at the moment. I am really looking forward to trying these out and seeing how they perform – if you’ve given them a whirl let me know what you think of them!
So, my overall verdict of the Cohorted beauty box? In a word, exceptional. It has filled a major gap in the beauty box world for me, and is pretty much the best one out there. What a totally luxurious treat!
Let me know what you think of the box, and whether you’re going to sign up!
Note: The boxes were kindly sent to me for review purposes, but all opinions are my own and this post is not sponsored!
