Wedding Planning: Q&A!

Since Tiz and I announced our engagement in 2014, I’ve had lots of questions about our wedding planning progress – early on we decided to take our time with everything and not rush our plans for the big day, but we’re finally starting to make a bit of headway. I wanted to give you a bit of an update today and answer some frequently asked questions!

When?

We’re going to be getting married in early-mid 2018, but as of yet the date isn’t totally set in stone! Our reasons for wanting to wait until 2018 are mainly centred around having plenty of time to plan with minimal stress (we’ll see about that!) and also the fact that in 2018, we’ll have been together for 10 years. I like round numbers and it feels super neat to me and my weird brain!

Where?

We’re fairly certain we’ve found our dream venue, but until it’s all confirmed I don’t want to jinx it! In terms of looking around venues, we’ve found they’ve been super helpful and there are way more open days going on that you’d think. Even if you can’t make them, most places have a dedicated wedding team who’ll be able to show you around and help out with details at a more convenient time. Watch this space! (By the way, the Paris photo isn’t a hint – but how much fun would that be?!)

The Details!

Dress, flowers, wedding party, decorations…they’re all of the fun details that I’m starting to think about at the moment. I am quite keen on the thrifty approach to a lot of wedding-related things, and am starting to gather ideas and possible vendors for these smaller yet essential aspects. In fact, on Saturday my mum and I will be heading to Bride: The Wedding Show at Tatton Park in Knutsford (for all you fellow North West-dwellers!) which I am so excited about. My first ever wedding show experience! I’m really excited to check out the kind of wedding cakes that are out there (the more quirky the better!) and perhaps even get some dress inspiration. Lots more information is available on their website!

What Next?

Planning, planning and more planning! I am also thinking about making some wedding-related videos on my YouTube channel – what do you guys think? If you have any requests, ideas or feedback please do let me know. Hopefully as we get further through the process I will have lots more tips for you!

Stay Creative,
