It’s that time again! I love to show you guys the beauty products I’ve used up, and give more in-depth reviews/impressions of the items – let’s start with some of my skincare essentials…
Hiding at the back are the Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Wipes – the Simple Micellar products have been a total revolution for me, I’m beyond obsessed with them. The Micellar Water is incredible, and the Wipes are just as good too – I would recommend them to anyone, and utterly adore them. Working for Simple, I get to try out their new products before they’re released, and as soon as I gave the Micellar Wipes a whirl I knew they’d do wonderfully well. Massive thumbs up! The regular Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes are an absolute staple of mine, and I will always love and use them. They’re a total everyday essential and I have so many uses for them! The Simple Kind To Skin Limited Edition Wipes (the pink pack…there’s also a black one available too!) are placed just on top, and have been a monthly favourite of mine. How stunning is the playful pink packaging? I’d love to know what you think of them (they’re still available exclusively at Superdrug, grab them whilst you can!). Finally, nestled just beneath are the Simple Baby Moisturising Wipes, which I’ve actually been using for touch ups when applying my make up and also for cleaning my make up brushes after use – they are AMAZING!
Sticking with the wipes theme, the Simple Kind To Skin+ Brightening Eye Make Up Remover Wipes are incredible at taking off your mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner…the whole lot! They give that radiance boost too, which is always very welcome (especially when you have a hectic schedule!). The Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Cream has actually been discontinued now but I loved using it at night for that extra moisture boost for my skin, which is quite dry by nature. Finally, the ever-awesome Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water…what can I say? It is literally amazing, and has changed my skincare routine forever. I think it might be my all-time favourite skincare product!
Let’s hear it for the Batiste Dry Shampoo range! These two, in Floral and Oriental (I much prefer Oriental, floral scents generally aren’t really my thing, but it was still a very good product!) worked wonders for my hair, and since I’ve run out and tried another brand, I’ve realised just how awesome they actually are. With exercising and working out most days, I find myself in need of a hair refresh more often than usual, and Batiste will always be my go-to brand. I adore them! The Percy & Reed Hairspray in the photo above finally ran out last week after a good couple of years, and it’s a decent product for sure – probably not my favourite hairspray of all time, but still effective and a good option for when you’re looking to keep your style in place!
It’s no secret that I’m a massive fan of the John Frieda shampoos and conditioners, and these two did me proud! The Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Tone-Correcting Shampoo is probably my favourite shampoo ever (though I’m just about to try out another purple shampoo, so I’ll keep you posted on that score!) and the Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Shampoo was also a good alternative. I like to alternate my shampoos and conditioners all the time (I rarely use the same combo twice, at least in a row) and I tend to finish lots of different products around the same time. These two were definitely good eggs, and I’m actually yet to try a John Frieda product I’m not massively keen on. Thumbs up all round!
Finally, we have some make up, perfume and, erm, dental care items! Let’s start with make up – the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light make up changed everything for me (I now alternate between this one and the full Double Wear). It really is exceptional, and perfect for daily wear in my opinion, especially during the cooler months. I’m going abroad soon and it will be quite warm, so I’ll probably stick to a BB Cream, but for a regular British Autumn day I think this is ideal. The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara did me proud for a drugstore product, and I’d recommend it if you’re on a budget – I have to admit that since finishing it I’ve gone back to my Benefit favourite, but for a more affordable alternative it’s a good choice. My old favourite Natural Collection Green Concealers are there too – I’ve spoken about this product more times than I can count, and it’s an amazing purchase at just £1.99!
You can also spot my DKNY Be Delicious perfume just above, which is the scent I wore for most of the summer. It’s divine, especially when the weather is sunny as it’s just made for a hot climate in my opinion! I have a back up of it that I will keep for next summer, but it ran out at the perfect time really! Finally, we have the Blanx White Shock toothpaste – I think I got this little tube in a goodie bag from a blogger event, and it was fine to use. Not the best or worst toothpaste I’ve ever used, just quite average!
Phew! What do you think of my latest beauty empties? Let me know!
