Listening to & inspired by: 4 O’Clock by Emilie Autumn
I’ve gone all sophisticated for my latest outfit post, which features one of my current favourite Autumn/Winter 2015 pieces from the fabulous Oasis. I feel like I’m about to go for afternoon tea at a fancy country retreat (hence the inspiration with 4 O’Clock…plus the fact I’ve hardly slept recently due to being ill. Can’t pretend it’s all glamorous!). Although yesterday was weirdly warm and sunny, the cooler weather is creeping in slowly but surely, and I’m loving a good jumper at the moment. Let’s take a closer look at the outfit!
The jumper is super comfortable yet stylish – the detail of the faux leather collar is gorgeous, and the pattern made me feel really put together. As with everything I’ve ever owned from Oasis, the quality is amazing and it’s vey well made – Oasis were kind enough to send me the item to style up, and it did not disappoint one bit having seen it on the website. It’s the kind of piece I could wear in the Autumn (or even Spring) on its own, and with a coat thrown over the top in Winter too – it’s not so thick that it would be uncomfortable with something worn over it, but is substantial enough to keep you snuggly as it gets colder.
I can’t get over how much I love the collar! The little things really do make all the difference, and it also makes a refreshing change from the usual scoop cut of jumpers like this. I loved how well it matched up with my shoes and, to some extent, my leggings too! I absolutely live in my American Apparel Tricot High Waisted Leggings for most of the year (I have multiple pairs, I think it’s bordering on an obsession) and they fit perfectly within this outfit. I always pair them with a long vest top – mine was originally from H&M, but I can’t seem to find one on their website. The link I’ve popped above to River Island shows a super similar one – it’s just long enough to cover my bum, which is a must for me when it comes to leggings (where do you stand on that age-old debate? Let me know!)
Finally, the shoes are the same ones I featured in my last outfit post, Mono. They’re such an A/W15 staple and I know I’m going to get a ridiculous amount of wear out of them. They go with everything, they’re really comfy and I’ve found myself reaching for them time and time again since I got them…which was only a couple of weeks ago! I should also quickly mention my bag – it’s the Vivienne Westwood bag I invested in a few months ago, and it has done me proud so far. I can’t find a link to it anywhere online, when I bought it in Selfridges it was the last one they had, so it may well be out of circulation now. If I find a link at some point I’ll be sure to keep you updated!
So there is my latest outfit post – what do you think of this more classy, sophisticated Autumn/Winter 2015 look? Let me know!
