My Beauty Empties #1

If you’re a long-time viewer of my YouTube channel, you might be confused by the title of this blog post – I have made Beauty Empties videos for years, but have decided to move them over to my blog. Although I personally love watching empties videos, I thought I’d try this particular feature on my written blog for now to see how it goes! So although it’s really probably Beauty Empties #254, it’s #1 for

Beauty Empties skincare

Let’s start with skincare! As you know, I work with Simple as their Brand Ambassador and genuinely adore their products – I don’t use anything else as my skin is sensitive, and Simple never ever causes me to have a negative reaction. Just to make it clear, although these products are kindly sent to me Simple don’t ask me to feature them on my blog/channel in any particular way, so as always this feature is 100% honest!

As you can see, I really do love Simple! I use so many of the Cleansing Facial Wipes as they’re so handy and convenient, and get rid of all of my make up (including mascara, which can be tricky). The Eye Make-Up Remover Pads are awesome for keeping on hand when doing a more dramatic eye make up look to correct any smudges or fallout. I use the Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser every single morning, and don’t really know what I’d do with out it! The Smoothing Facial Scrub is another old favourite that I’ve used for years, and the Spotless Skin Cleansing Pads are incredible for using after taking make up off to make sure every last scrap is gone. It’s amazing how much you can miss if you’re not paying attention when cleansing initially!

Where do I begin! I absolutely love the feeling of using up make up products, mostly because I’m sent so many to try out and hate waste, so feel that I’m actually getting through everything. I’ll go from the top of the list above and give you an overview of each product. I started using this Soap and Glory Hand Food cream after I received it as a gift a year or so ago – unfortunately after a while the product went a bit funny and I had to get rid of the last bit of cream. It did a good job though, so it still gets a thumbs up. The Sainsbury’s Nail Polish remover was a surprise hit, and I’d definitely repurchase. Batiste Dry Shampoo is one of my all-time favourite essentials and I adore it, nothing more to say on that score other than that it’s awesome!

This Alison Claire Body Butter was a gift from a PR company, and my goodness it smells amazing! I am a huge fan of it in general, and already miss using it. The John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo was another good product, not as much of a favourite as my Sheer Blonde shampoos/conditioners but still a winner nonetheless. The same can’t be said for the KeraStraight Shampoo, as I didn’t really get on with it – I’m all about colour-protecting products, so this didn’t do much for me.

I’m a long-time Smashbox fan and love the Full Exposure mascara – this is the regular version which I adore, but I’m not so keen on the waterproof one. It’s a bit tricky to remove and makes my lashes feel hard, but this one works like a dream. I had some trouble with this Jelly Pong Pong Mascara too – when I first tried and reviewed it, it was great! But when I came to actually use it for my daily mascara it had totally dried out. I can’t put too much blame on the product as there was quite a big time lapse, but it’s just a shame. The Fairsquared Lip Balm was a gift from my friend Hannah for my birthday last year and I adored it – would definitely use again! And finally, my beloved Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation. It has lasted me FOREVER and I will always love it.

Phew! There are my most recent Beauty Empties – have you tried any of the products I mentioned? What did you think of them?

Stay Creative,
