Top 5 Beauty Products Under £5

Everyone loves a bargain, and in the beauty world they can sometimes be hard to come by (if you still want great quality, that is). I was having a good think about some of the ‘best value’ products that I own and frequently use, and realised that many of them were under that magic price, £5. I don’t know what it is about the ‘under a fiver’ bargain that gets us every time – perhaps its the fact that it’s the lowest single note, or  that it’s almost like treating yourself but not quite; whatever the reason, under-£5 products always win in my book.

Here are my current top 5 beauty buys for under £5:

1. ELF Eyebrow Lifter and Filler in Ash – £3.50

ELF Eyebrow Lifter and Filler in Ash Review

If, like me, you’re super fair-haired, you’ll know that it can be a nightmare trying to find a good eyebrow product that doesn’t make you look like Charity Dingle (no one else watch Emmerdale? Just me? Ok…). I’m talking about that dreaded moment when your eyebrows are 10 shades darker than your hair and you look ever so slightly silly. That’s why this ELF product is perfect – the ‘filler’ side of the pencil isn’t one of the standard ‘light, medium or dark’ brown shades, but a much lighter ash colour. Yippee!

2. Collection 2000 Hot Lights Lipgloss in Star – £4.19

Collection 2000 Hot Lights Lipgloss in Star Review

This has been my ‘ultimate obsession’ lipgloss for around 7 months now – it was sent to me by the incredibly lovely Harriet, aka Harriet1984 on Youtube – and it has been my go-to product since. It’s such good value for many reasons concerning quality (which is excellent), but also because it is magically never-ending! I have used it probably hundreds of times, and I’m only just starting to notice it looking any emptier. I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone – I even had to buy my mum one to stop her using mine all the time!

3. Simple Radiance Brightening Cleansing Wipes – £4.20

Simple Radiance Brightening Cleansing Wipes

I alternate between using these Simple Radiance wipes and the regular Cleansing Facial Wipes, but I have to admit that I ultimately have a huge soft stop for these ones! They do exactly what it says on the packet – make you look radiant! The tiny light-reflecting particles in the Radiance formula gives you a gorgeous glow, whilst also providing the nutrients that Simple products give your skin too. Complete essential!

4. Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayon in Party Pink – £4.99

Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayon in Party Pink Review

I’m literally like a magpie when it comes to all-things-glittery, and this purchase demonstrates that perfectly! This shade of shocking, fuchsia pink is my favourite colour in the world, and when it is teamed with glitter I am powerless to stop myself loving it! I would reserve this for a night out, probably one where I was feeling particularly girly, but nevertheless it is a great product, with a lovely application.

5. MUA Eyeshadow in Shade 18 – £1

MUA Eyeshadow in Shade 18 Review

I know that it is kind of hard to believe that an eyeshadow costing £1 could be any good, let alone pretty fantastic, but this MUA one is living proof! The pigmentation of this shadow is better than some high-end ones I’ve tried, and is so affordable that it’s almost unbelievable. It’s no wonder the beauty world has been raving about MUA of late – those original fans, like me, are happy that this brand is finally getting the recognition it deserves as a fabulous quality budget brand.

So, next time you fancy a bargain, take a look into these great buys! Which beauty bargains do you swear by? Let me know in the comments!

After your raves about the Hot Lights gloss in Star, I bought it. Lovely colour and the strip of ‘mirror’ is nice, but I actually really like the Lock & Hold lipgloss by Collection 2000 a bit better. (And it’s only 2.99!) Definitely doesn’t stay for 6 hours, but it does stay on longer than Hot Lights, and the colours & consistency are great! If you end up trying one, let us know what you think. Thx for the recession tips, very current! xx
