Outfit: Tropical Edge

If you’re an eagle-eyed follower of the Boohoo Instagram, you may have seen this photo already today – it was featured on their page this afternoon, which is super exciting! I decided to put an outfit together featuring the amazing Tabitha Tropical Print String Back Playsuit, which they kindly gave me after a little bit of work I did with them…

I’m not usually one for floral prints, but had to make an exception for this awesome piece. The black background makes it much more ‘me’, and the print is more interesting than standard flowers – it lives up to its tropical name! As with any outfit, I like to put my own edgy stamp onto it, so spiky platform wedges seemed like the best option! They were actually from Boohoo a few years ago, though there are some similar ones (minus the spikes) on the site at the moment – these Abbie Suedette Peep Toe Sling Back Wedges remind me of mine!

I also added some black aviator sunglasses into the mix – I bought these last summer but can’t for the life of me remember where from! They’re the kind of style that’s pretty easy to find anywhere, and the great thing is they go with just about any outfit. I would say they’re my most worn pair, and considering they were pretty cheap and cheerful that’s not bad going! I like the alternative edge the sunglasses and spiked shoes give to the outfit, and allows me to wear a floral print without feeling like I’m not myself!

How do you make floral prints work for you? Do you go tropical like me, or use accessories to add in more of your own style?

Stay Creative,
