Why hello there beautiful nail polish. Do you come here often? I’ve seen you around (mostly in my to-review box) and wanted to get to know you a little better…
I’d love to introduce you all to the stunning Michael Kors Nail Lacquer in Envy. When I was generously given some of the products from the Michael Kors beauty range to try out, this nail polish really stood out to me. The shade is somewhere between pink and purple (let’s say magenta. Because that’s the accurate term) and is one of those colours that can work across both the warmer and cooler months.
I’m writing this as I’ve just applied the polish, and wanted to give my first impressions. The packaging is second-to-none; it screams luxury, and is so classically Michael Kors it is almost too gorgeous to look at. The application, on top of a clear base coat, was pretty smooth – it required two coats, and I could have probably got away with a third, but if you’re looking for a quick nail spruce-up two works nicely. I also popped on a top coat with no smudging, which is impressive as I always seem to mess up my manicure within one stroke. I take this to signify a pretty decent drying time and finish!
I’m now writing this a couple of days later (I feel like I’m in some kind of post-apocalyptic film, documenting my actions should anyone be able to read this. Basically I feel like Will Smith in I Am Legend). There are a few chips, but given my general clumsiness and poor nail condition I think it’s held up pretty well. Something worth mentioning is that the polishes retail for around £15.50 each, which is super expensive – the experience of using them is totally luxurious, but I’m not sure they are totally worth that price. If they were more towards the £10 mark I’d feel that was more on point.
Nonetheless, I have really enjoyed trying out the Michael Kors Envy Nail Polish, and will absolutely be using it again. It has earned its place amongst my collection! What do you think of the shade?
