Hair Chalk: Review & Demonstration!

When I asked you guys which products you’d like to see me review over on my YouTube channel, SO many of you mentioned hair chalks! I had recently used hair chalk when I went to see McBusted with my sister, and shared a photo on Instagram – this led to lots of you being curious about how I used the chalk and what I thought of it, so I decided to do a live review and demonstration for you!

The hair chalks I picked up were from Urban Outfitters – they are the Hair Chalk Comb in Pink and also the one in Blue. I found hair chalks a bit tricky to find even in Manchester city centre, so those links will take you right to the products on the Urban Outfitters website for anyone who can’t easily get to the store.

The thing I instantly liked about these £6 hair chalks was the design. When we used them before, they were in a dome/ball shape, and although the colour payoff was amazing they were quite messy to use. These ones come embedded into a comb, which means there is much less mess and a more direct application!

Urban Outfitters Hair Chalk review

As you can see from the video, the application was super straightforward and after the first initial sweeps through the hair, the colour transferred boldly. I was very impressed, and can see myself investing in each new colour that comes out! They also made everything pretty mess-free too – with the ball, my hands ended up covered in chalk but there wasn’t that problem at all with the combs.

I washed my hair the same day I applied the chalk, and made sure to really massage my shampoo into the hair chalked-sections. I was so chuffed to see that there was absolutely no trace of the colour left in my hair afterwards, whereas with the balls it took two washes to totally remove the chalk. This was a bit plus point for me!

So all in all, I highly recommend these Urban Outfitters Hair Chalks – they are fun, easy to use and do just what they say on the packet. Winner!
