The gorgeously glowing, dewy skin trend is still huge in the beauty world, and it’s definitely one of my favourite looks – when the weather is as glorious as it has been the past couple of days, it’s the only skin finish for me! I have a few products and tips that help me to achieve that dewy glow without looking greasy, so let’s take a closer look…
Don’t worry, I haven’t gone mad – there’s a very good reason that a plate of food is sitting amongst some of my favourite products. Granted, it isn’t the prettiest looking food in the world (we need to go shopping for some super fresh produce) but you’ll get the gist once I explain.
I believe that beautiful-looking skin starts from the inside – what you eat really makes a difference. When my diet is full of fresh fruits and veggies my skin looks amazing – when I fall off the healthy eating wagon and munch through a whole packet of biscuits in a few days, it doesn’t look quite so hot. I’ll talk through a few of my favourite foods to eat for great skin in just a minute!
1. Simple Kind To Skin+ Illuminating Radiance Cream
I’ve worked with Simple for over three years now, and have learnt SO much about skincare during that time. One of my favourite Simple products of all time is the Kind To Skin+ Illuminating Radiance Cream – it just creates that perfect base for make up, and makes my skin look a million dollars. It also contains SPF 15 too, so it’s the perfect accompaniment to my summer glowing skin look!
2. Smashbox Halo Highlighting Wand
I’ve recently fallen back in love with this product. It’s a very, very good highlighter, and as it’s liquid rather than powder it helps with my mission for dewy skin! I can blend it easily over foundation onto my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and any other high points of my face to give that flawless glow. It is stunning!
3. Smashbox Photo Set Finishing Powder
It may seem odd to include a powder in a post about dewy skin, but hear me out! This Smashbox powder is perfect for being both on and off camera, as it sets your make up but really helps to reflect the light. I find it takes away any unwanted shine but leaves you with a glow where you’d want it – my forehead and cheeks always look flawless and radiant with no trace of oilyness.
4. Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation
As you can probably tell by the almost-empty bottle, the Illamasqua Skin Base has been a favourite of mine for years! It lasts forever, gives you a beautiful glow and helps to keep shine at bay. A little goes a long way, which is why I have made the bottle last so long, and it provides wonderful coverage. I sometimes like to mix a little with my moisturiser for an added dewy finish – it looks so amazing on the skin!
5. Fruits and Vegetables
I try to eat as much fruit and veg as humanly possible, and it works wonders for my body and my skin too. I’m always lightest on the scales after a fruit and vegetable-heavy week, and my skin has this amazingly healthy sheen to it too. Some of my favourite fruits include: bananas, strawberries, pineapple, melon, kiwi fruit, grapes and apples. Amongst my favourite vegetables are: spinach, carrots, kale, cos lettuce, sweetcorn, cucumber, broccoli and mushrooms.
