I had planned to do a Nail of the Day post today, and happily sat down with a brand new polish to try out. When I opened the bottle, I thought the brush was a little unusual, and the formula a little translucent, but persevered anyway…
After letting the ‘first coat’ dry for a good 5 minutes, I tapped my nails lightly to make sure they were ready for coat no.2. I was so annoyed to find that it was still totally liquid, and removed the product from every nail in a huff. It was only when I looked down at the bottle of MeMeMe’s Beat The Blues in Pearl Pink that I realised it was, in fact, a complexion highlighter. Not a nail polish. FAIL!
In my defence, it does look like a nail varnish bottle, doesn’t it?!
It got me thinking about a couple of my other beauty mishaps over the years. I’ve accidentally used shampoo and conditioner the wrong way round on a few occasions (and although it’s meant to work wonders for the hair, mine didn’t like it at all!) and I’ve definitely been guilty of accidentally holding hot styling tools on certain sections of hair too long, leaving me with awkward kinks and straightener marks.
I’d love to hear all about your own beauty mishaps – everyone has a funny story to tell! Leave me a comment just below or send me a tweet. Let’s make each other feel better about our little mishaps…
