Review: Sleek Pout Polish in Bare Minimum

As much as I love lip products like lipstick and gloss, I really struggle to use them on a frequent basis as my lips are SO dry. No matter what I do, they are still as sore as ever, and I have to shy away from the majority of the lip products in my stash for day-to-day wear. However, when I picked up the Sleek Pout Polish in Bare Minimum I felt optimistic that it might be more of a wearable product for me…

Sleek Pout Polish in Bare Minimum review

The product contains not only SPF 15, but nourishing ingredients like shea butter and jojoba oil. I love lip gloss-style products that actually do your lips some good whilst looking gorgeous, and I really wanted to put it to the test. Normally, I wouldn’t dream of applying any lip product without letting a balm sink in for a good hour beforehand, but I popped this straight on to my lips (talk about living on the edge, hey?!). How did it fare?

Surprisingly well, actually! The first thing that hit me about the Pout Polish was the gorgeous scent – it’s right in the middle of that powdery cosmetics smells (you know what I mean!) and something a bit more natural and sweet. It’s not at all sticky, which is a bonus as you have to apply it with your fingers, and the overall look is super nude and wonderfully moisturising. It hasn’t cured my dry lips (I’d never expect any product to do that, anyway!) but it allows me to rock nice, shiny lips without worrying that it’s totally drying them out.

I think I received this in a Glossybox (I am the worst for remembering where samples came from! Bad blogger!) but after a quick search I found that the Sleek Pout Polish retails for £4.49, which is definitely reasonable in my book. I have already put this in my handbag ready for applying when I’m out and about – I can’t wait!

Which products do you love for your dry lips? Please do let me know!

I have the same problem with my lips. They always peel and then are sore. Recently though, when I apply my moisturizer, I also put it on my lips (I use Simple products! ) and my lips have actually improved a lot since I have started doing this on a daily basis! Also, when I do use lip balm, I use Maybelline Baby Lips 🙂

Well I would recommend you try some of the Nivea lip products and also Maybelline Baby lips. 🙂 Or just some plain old Vaseline on your lips. People say it blackens them but I’ve never seen that happen. xoxo
