Hello Kitty was one of my favourite songs from Avril Lavigne‘s fifth album, and I was so excited to hear the official music video had been released! It is totally Japan-inspired and super kawaii, which is exactly what I expected from the video. I decided to recreate Avril‘s make up look for my brand new make up tutorial video!
There are a couple of variations of the look throughout the video – at the very beginning it is super similar to this, gets a little darker when she is outside and is a bit more subtle when she’s wearing the blue-rimmed glasses. The great thing about make up is that you can tweak little sections to totally change it up, depending on your personal preference and what looks best for your eye shape!
Within the tutorial, I also explain how to craft a pair of false eyelashes similar to the ones Avril has on in the video – it’s a little bit makeshift, but does the job! I’ll include the necessary bits and pieces in the full list of products I used just below…
- Urban Decay Primer Potion (I totally forgot to show this step in the video!)
- Jemma Kidd Stay Put Define Eyeliner
- Emite Eyeshadow in Dams
- 120 Pro Palette – Dark Grey & Purple Shadows
- False Eyelashes (mine were the Girls Aloud Kimberly ones)
- Smashbox Brow Tech Kit
- Natural Collection Green Concealer
- Foundation of choice
- Smashbox Photo Set Finishing Powder
- Beauty UK Lipgloss
What do you think of the Hello Kitty music video, and my make up tutorial? I’d love to know! Leave me a little comment below, or on the video – I read each and every one, and try to reply to them all too!
