Review: Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara

Beauty scoop alert! On Wednesday I was kindly invited to breakfast at the Manchester Malmaison hotel to meet with the amazing Smashbox. I was so excited to hear about their new launches, and they absolutely did not disappoint! Today’s review is all about the brand new Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara, available from the 2nd April 2014.

I’m a huge fan of the original Full Exposure formula, so was intrigued to see how the waterproof version held up. I decided to put it to the test and wear it during a gruelling workout (not going to lie guys, it was a sweaty one!) to see just how well it stayed in place.

I took a quick snap of the mascara on my eye before the workout – in terms of application, I adore the chunky brush as it allows me to coat all of my lashes quickly and effectively. It also worked really well on the lower lashes as the brush didn’t cause the product to smudge! Here’s the ‘before’ shot:

I didn’t actually curl my lashes for this experiment, but I liked the subtle lift the product gave on its own. It was also easy to layer, and didn’t instantly dry up which is a huge plus point. I got to work with my daily exercise routine, and the workout I chose was pretty hardcore. How did the mascara fare?

In a word – brilliantly! It did not shift, smudge, streak or budge. I am incredibly impressed with the result – here’s a photo!

Incredible! I would definitely pay £18 for a mascara that performs this well, especially considering how hard I put it to the test! It’s a similar price point to its competitor brands’ hero mascaras, and definitely deserves shouting about. When I start running outside (hopefully soon, given the sunshine!) I will wear this safe in the knowledge that it’s going nowhere!

Will you be picking up the Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara in April?

Stay Creative,
