Blogger confession: before today, I had never tried one of the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks. Never. I know, banish me to the blogger naughty corner – I’m such a maverick. But all that has changed as I popped the Rimmel Kate Moss 107 shade onto my lips this morning…
I’d read online that this is a matte lipstick – I’m currently wearing it, and it doesn’t look or feel particularly matte to me! When I first received it (I can’t remember whether it was in a Glossybox or from the lovely Missguided, but I think it’s the latter – blogger problems!) I was enchanted by the gorgeous deep shade and couldn’t wait to try it out.
Here’s a closer look at the actual shade of the lipstick. I would describe it as a deep wine shade, which is just the kind of thing I love for a night out:
It even looks glossy in the tube! I’m slightly confused, but not disappointed – matte lipstick tend to really dry my lips out, and that is never a good look. In fact, before I applied the lipstick my lips were feeling pretty dehydrated and I was worried it was going to look rubbish. I persevered though, and applied without the safety net of super soft lips…
I was definitely happy with the outcome! The colour glided on smoothly and boldly, and although it did slightly cling to the drier spots towards my cupid’s bow I did like the finish. What do you think?
In hindsight, a lipliner wouldn’t have been a bad plan underneath for a more even finish! I think I’d also give it a good blot for daytime wear, just to make sure I don’t end up looking like I’ve just eaten 100 strawberries!
The lipstick retails for around £5.49 from places like Boots and Superdrug, which seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. I’d love to know if you’ve tried any of the Kate Moss lipsticks, and what you think of them?
