The only thing I love more than trying out a good nail polish is doing so unexpectedly! The lovely Missguided sent me a beautiful Valentine’s Day parcel a week or so ago, and alongside an awesome shirt and chocolate lovebird (that was practically inhaled) was this gorgeous Rimmel Salon Pro Nail Polish, designed by Kate Moss in the shade New Romantic.
I’m normally a fan of super bold nail polish shades, but there definitely are times when a more subtle colour is required. Last week I was working down in London for two days in a row, and needed a nail varnish that would last and look good for the duration. I immediately had faith in this one (I’m a sucker for marketing, as the salon promise drew me in) and I gave it a whirl.
From the first coat, the polish looked good. It was nowhere near as sheer as I’d imagined, and after two coats the colour was pretty much opaque. I didn’t actually use a top coat, as the finish was so gorgeous on its own, and thought that would make for a good test of its durability.
It’s all good news! I have been wearing the polish for a good 4 or 5 days and it has only just started to chip around the top. This is virtually unheard of, especially considering how clumsy I am – I really couldn’t be happier with this amazing product. It will definitely be my go-to subtle polish, and I am definitely going to be checking out the other shades in the Kate Moss range!
Have you tried any of the Rimmel Salon Pro nail varnishes?
