Review: NV Colour Lipstick in Kinky Pink

I don’t usually post so many reviews from the same brand in such quick succession, but there’s something about the NV Colour cosmetics products they kindly sent me that make me want to keep trying them out! Today I’ll be looking at the NV Colour Lipstick in Kinky Pink  – could the shade be as cheeky as the name?

NV Colour Lipstick in Kinky Pink review

I’m not usually a fan of chunky make up packaging, but shortly after opening this lipstick I learned to love it. Why? It’s such a simple addition, but there lid is actually magnetic so it stays firmly attached to the base of the tube! I’m sick of lipstick lids coming off in my bag and making a giant mess, so before I’d even seen the shade this lipstick was in my good books!

Pink lipstick is just about my favourite make up item ever, and after seeing Kinky Pink on the website I was super stoked to try the shade out properly. I find it pretty similar to my very favourite MAC Show Orchid, and it’s actually a really decent dupe!

NV Colour had previously told me that their lipstick formulas are moisturising, which was a massive draw for me as my lips are incredibly dry. I was concerned that, if the formula was too moisturising, it may stray into greasy territory – however, any added hydration is such a bonus for me that I didn’t mind too much!

When I started to apply the lipstick, the first coat did go on quite sheer and it was slightly more difficult than usual to apply precisely. However, despite my initial scepticism I wanted to keep it on my lips for a good hour or so to see how it performed.

I was so happy that the lipstick settled into place within moments, and any initial greasiness disappeared to leave a gorgeously moisturising finish underneath. It didn’t feel thick or heavy on my lips, which is something I hate, so was incredibly easy to wear.

The lipstick retails for £6, which is good value for the look, feel and quality of the product. It’s definitely made it into my favourite pink shade collection, and I will definitely be wearing it on those days when my lips need a little extra love!

Which NV Colour Lipstick would you love to try out?
