Review: NV Colour Cosmetics

I always love to try out cosmetics brands I’ve never heard of before, and today I’ll be doing just that! Here’s a closer look at two products from NV Colour cosmetics – they were kindly given to me by in a goodie bag at one of their awesome events, and I’ve been planning to try them out for ages.

The two products featured are the NV Colour Chunky Crayon in Mermaid and the NV Colour Cheeky Stick in Roseblush. I thought it would be interesting as neither of them are items I’d usually reach for, but it’s always good to branch out and explore different look and products.

First things first – the Chunky Crayon. I instantly adored the colour itself, and it definitely lived up to its name! I gave it a good swatch and hoped it would have as bold a colour payoff as appeared in the stick, and I was pleasantly surprised! Not only was the colour intense, but it applied smoothly and was blendable too.

How amazing would this look in a super creative, bold and bright make up tutorial? I will definitely be using it at some point soon! What kind of look would you guys like to see created with shades like this? I more than welcome your ideas! As a side note, the Crayon costs £5, which is on par with the likes of Barry M in both quality and value.

Let’s move on to the Cheeky Stick. I’m not a big blush wearer as many of you will know, and when I do I tend to opt for very light peach shades. Roseblush is definitely much darker than I’d usually go for, and is also totally different in texture from my preferred pressed powder.

I have to admit that I don’t think I’d actually use this. I think it would work much better on a darker skin tone than mine, and I also don’t think I can work too well with the cream formula. However, if you’re a fan of cream products I’d definitely recommend checking this out – at just £6 it definitely won’t break the bank, and contains a decent amount of product.

I’m actually pretty tempted to look into more of the NV Colour products, especially the Crayons – a black or dark grey one would definitely make my make up routine a lot quicker! If you’ve tried any of them out, please do let me know what you’d recommend.

Stay Creative,
