I seem to be on a bit of a roll in terms of doing Glossybox reviews! This post is all about a gorgeous lipstick that I received in last month’s box – it is the Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Nude. To be honest, when I first picked it out of the Glossybox it didn’t particularly grab my attention, but I’m not one to write a product off on first appearance so I gave it a go.
It looks quite similar to a couple of my favourite lip shades – for everyday use, I definitely favour nude and peach shades. In the tube, it looked a little paler than I would normally like which made me a little bit apprehensive – however, I know that lip products can look totally difference once applied!
I have heard of Beautiful Movements Cosmetics before (mostly under the name BM Beauty), but it’s not a brand that is generally on my radar. I do love it when Glossybox includes smaller brands as they can sometimes be the best! I have a few criteria in terms of what I consider a ‘good’ lipgloss – I don’t like it to be too sticky, or to end up drying my lips out.
The applicator is a standard doe-foot, which is actually my favourite kind – I’m not into brushes when it comes to glosses as they really tickle my lips! It’s hard to apply a product when you’re giggling! My lips have been incredibly dry lately due the cold weather, and even though I’ve been exfoliating them they are still a bit gross and flaky. I almost had a few extra demands on this product, as I actually needed it to be moisturising rather than just ‘not drying’.
And here was the result! I was actually thrilled with it – when the gloss first went on it felt very thick, but after just a few sweeps it evened out and felt soft, silky and moisturising! Winner! I also have this thing about glosses not being too sticky – I totally appreciate that the nature of a gloss will be slightly sticky no matter what, but was happy to note that this one was much less tacky than most.
I also adored the colour once it was applied. The product really took me by surprise – I wasn’t excited about it at all, but once I’d tried it out it was a totally different story. It may be one of the nicest lip glosses I have ever come across! The full-sized product retails for £12, which would be very expensive if the quality wasn’t SO good. I would absolutely recommend it, especially if your lips are dry like mine.
How do you think the gloss looks?
