I’m excited to finally get round to posting my second review in my mini John Frieda Luxurious Volume series! As many of you will know, John Frieda is my favourite hair care range of all time, and I wanted to devote a separate post to each product from the new range. This was one product I was exceptionally interested to try when it was sent to me, and it is the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Conditioner!
The reason I was so intrigued was this – in my experience, conditioners are always the thing that can make hair feel thicker and heavier, rather than lighter and volumised. I find that conditioners make my hair flatter, as they add weight and drag my hair down (you all know how long it is!).
As I mentioned in my previous Luxurious Volume review, I wasn’t expecting miracles with this range – for short hair, I could definitely see how the products would boost volume, but on my long locks it’s difficult to achieve that even with heated styling tools. So how did this conditioner fare?
Honestly, the first time I used it I didn’t think all that much of it – I would say there was slightly more volume in my hair, but nothing to write home about (imagine how weird that would be, anyway?). However, I decided to give it a second go and… WOW! I don’t know what happened, but it performed totally differently. Once dried, my hair felt incredibly smooth – like, seriously soft – yet it still had a cute bounce to it. Such a mystery!
I am quite literally say here stroking my hair as I write – a product hasn’t made my hair feel so lovely in ages. It was an expected result from this product, but one I’m very glad of. It’s also great to report that it did do somewhat as promised too, and on shorter hair than mine it would work a treat.
I’m excited to try this again next wash to see what happens – alongside the matching shampoo, it has rightfully earned its place in my shower. Here’s to soft, luxurious and bouncy hair for 2014!
The John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Conditioner retails for around £5.99 from places like Boots.
