Review: Essie Nail Polish in Cute As A Button

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve done a nail polish review! I kind of realised how many I have (i.e. a LOT) and I put myself on a bit of a buying ban. However, when this little bottle arrived in a recent Glossybox, I couldn’t wait to try it out!

Essie Nail Polish in Cute As A Button

It is the Essie Nail Polish in Cute As A Button. I have to admit that it isn’t my usual kind of shade – coral, no matter how pink-toned, is something I usually avoid. However, having only tried a couple of Essie polishes in my life I really wanted to give it a whirl!

After applying my clear base coat (a total must when using any coloured polish) I popped on my first coat. The first thing I noticed was  how awesome the brush is! It is short but quite wide, and glided over the nail perfectly. The coat dried pretty quickly which is always a bonus!

The second coat applied just as well, and the colour came up beautifully! It was much more pink on the nails that I imagined, which for me is always better than the more orange tone. It took much less time to totally dry than some of my other favourites, and the overall finish was super glossy and really smooth.

Here’s how it looked!

What do you guys think? The polish costs around £7.99, which I think is actually pretty reasonable considering the quality of it! I’m really excited to try some more Essie polishes (consider my spending ban over…) – do you guys have any recommendations?

Stay Creative,
