When my doorbell rang the other day (whilst I was in the shower…can’t believe I made it out in time to collect the parcel!) I was greeted with a surprise delivery. It contained two of the brand new MUA Colour Blast Eye Shadow Tints – chubby stick-like eyeshadow pens which claim to coat and smooth the delicate eye area.
The two shades I received were Diamonds (a soft, pretty pink) and Unfaithful (a coffee brown). After gazing over the other shades, I believe they are all named after Rihanna songs, although I’m not her biggest fan so don’t quote me on that one…
Let’s take a little look at Diamonds first. Pink eyeshadow isn’t something I usually go for, so I was hoping it would be a light and frosty shade that would be suitable for highlighting purposes.
It looked super promising in the tube! I actually swatched the shades together, so we’ll look at those in a moment, but on first impressions the product seemed to be of good quality and incredibly good value – each Eyeshadow Tint pen is just £3, and you get a lot of product!
Now for Unfaithful. I love a good brown eyeshadow, it makes a nice change from black but you can still get a good smokey effect. The shade looked gorgeous in the pen itself!
I thought it worked well with a little shimmer running through it, but hoped it wouldn’t transfer to the skin and be too glittery. I don’t think that would be a good look considering the coffee shade!
Ok, it’s time for the swatches!
I was so stoked that both of the shades were exactly how I hoped they’d be! The coffee brown shade is intense enough to create a smokey eye but also build-able, in case you wanted to add a hint of colour. The pink is also ideal for an inner corner highlight, or even a touch of it towards the brow bone!
I am thoroughly impressed with these Colour Blast Eyeshadow Tints, and think they’ll do brilliantly. I wore Unfaithful most of the day yesterday and it lasted like a dream too! All round good eggs 🙂
