Hi, I’m Chyaz and I neglect my eyebrows. A strange confession for a beauty guru, I know, but in truth I’ve never had much cause to think about my brows! I’m very fair-haired and my brows are no exception – most of the time I leave them to their own devices.
I do fully appreciate that slight changes to the eyebrows can make all the difference when it comes to having a polished, finished look that frames your face. That’s why I was looking forward to trying out the Smashbox Brow Tech in Blonde!
The Brow Tech kit contains two powder shades and one wax, all geared towards the particular colour of your hair. One of my top beauty tips of all time is to actually think about the colour of your brows, not the colour you wish they were. I’ve seen so many blonde-haired people filling in their brows in far too dark a shade – this proves there are actually products out there aimed towards every eyebrow shade!
The lightest shade of powder is for filling in your brows, the slightly darker one for defining them and the wax for setting them. I really like this three-tiered approach, as I find that just popping one colour of powder or pencil onto my brows can make them look a little severe.
I grabbed a small angled brush and set to work on my brows. I gave them an emergency pluck before I started (if you’ve got fair brows, you’ll know how tempting it is to leave gaps between doing this!) and used all three sections of the kit.
Here is a comparison between the finished brow and the undone one. I love that the differences are subtle but really do help to produce that more ‘put together’ look:
The brow I worked on looks fuller yet softer, and the two shades really work well together. After using the lighter one all over the brow, I used the slightly darker one lightly around the edges and arch to provide a little more definition. The wax was also awesome, and really helped to provide extra shape while setting the brows in place.
Once again, I’m thrilled with this offering from Smashbox. A big thank you to them once again for sending me this product to review! The kit retails for £17.
