For those who stay tuned to my Facebook and Twitter pages, you may have seen that I’ve just come back from the most wonderful weekend in Paris! Saturday was mine and Tiz’s 5 year anniversary, and a week or so ago he surprised me by booking a trip to the beautiful ‘City of Love’!
Lots of you have asked to see a few more photos from our trip, so I’ll be sharing them here! We took hundreds of awesome photos but I’ve picked out some of the key ones, and will explain a little more about each one as we go.
This was the view from our hotel room balcony – yes, that is the Arc de Triomphe! We stayed at the Hotel Splendid Etoile, which is a moment’s walk from the Arc and towards the Champs-Elysees. It was truly beautiful, and I felt so lucky every second I was there.
On the first night, we walked to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and were greeted with this spectacular view! It was so sunny even towards the evening, and I was thrilled to get my first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. There were many more to come!
This is my favourite photo of the trip, if not of all time! A lovely couple were passing by as we were stood in this amazing spot and offered to snap a picture for us. It turned out wonderfully – the sky was really that blue! We had awesome weather for the entire trip, and this was the perfect first activity on our actual anniversary day.
Before we went to Paris, one of my lovely viewers told me about the Pont des Arts – a bridge in Paris covered in love locks! Couples write their names and a message on a padlock, fasten it to the bridge and throw the key into the river Seine. It seemed so beautifully fitting to do this on our anniversary, and there is me holding our attached lock!
After visiting Notre Dame, we got ready for our evening dinner cruise with Bateaux Mouches! I was so excited, and it exceeded every single one of our expectations. This was us earlier on in the evening on the top deck of the boat, and as the sun went down we only got more incredible views…
I’m so thrilled that we managed to get this photo! The Eiffel Tower was lit up just as we passed it, which was breathtaking. The whole night was perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for anything better.
After a hearty breakfast on Sunday, we went to the Louvre museum which was fantastic – seeing the Mona Lisa in person is quite something, and the Napoleon rooms were beyond stunning! We spent a lot of the day exploring different corners of the city and soaked up the atmosphere – it was very romantic, and the memories will stay with me for a long time!
To round off our trip, it just so happened that the Tour De France finale was taking place right outside our hotel! The 100 Year celebrations were spectacular, and the light projections onto the Arc were a sight to behold. We saw all of the cyclists go past at lightening speed, before the sun went down and the light show started.
And, because I love y’all, I made sure to take some beauty and fashion-related snaps! They are all pretty fun, and need no introduction – enjoy!
I have to admit – I didn’t actually buy a single thing whilst in Paris!! I had more than enough memories to need souvenirs and wanted to spend my time with Tiz enjoying the city rather than shopping 🙂
I hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing my photos, and taking a glimpse into our amazing Paris trip!
