Now I haven’t featured MUA products on my blog for a little while (some of you may remember why) but when they contacted me about reviewing their new customisable Fashionista Palette, I decided to give them another whirl.
MUA got in touch and asked me what kind of looks I love to create – being me, the first word the came to mind was ‘smokey’! You can choose from eyeshadows and blushes, but as I don’t really wear the latter I opted for shadows alone. MUA then chose four shades for me to create The Chyaz Palette!
The top left shade is Stylish, the top right shade is Chocolate Dream, the bottom left shade is Exclusive Collection and the bottom right is Fashion House!
I was slightly unsure about the marbled shades, as they tend to come off very glittery and much lighter than you anticipate, but I wanted to give it all a fair try. I popped the shades our of their pans and into the palette!
I really do love the idea of the customisable palette, especially considering the reasonable prices – 4 shades cost £7, and the palette is included! Let’s take a look at how they actually looked when swatched…
From top to bottom, the shades are: Stylish, Fashion House, Chocolate Dream and Exclusive Collection.
As I thought, the shades are super, super shimmery, but I was pleasantly surprised at how pigmented they were. I only lightly swatched them as buildable colour coverage is something I love to test for, and these shadows would work brilliantly for that.
In terms of being ideal for a smokey look, I think that the top two could work well together but I’m not convinced about the bottom two. I think they would work well in a more neutral, coppery look.
All in all, I think that the Custom Fashionista Palettes are a great idea, especially if you’re watching the pennies when it comes to make up purchases. You have total control over what goes into your palette, and can just pick the shades you use most regularly!
Have you made your own MUA Fashionista Palette? What do you think of it?
