Review: Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara

Forgive me for another Smashbox review so soon after my last, but I’m getting far too excited working through the lovely package I received from them! Today’s review is going to be focussing on the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara.

Now the first thing I loved about this mascara was the packaging – the red cross reminded me SO much of Avril Lavigne’s old motif from the ‘Under My Skin’ era (can you tell I’m a super fan?).

The shade I received was Jet Black – just how I like my mascara!

Now the mascara I am currently using is – to put it kindly – not entirely up to par. My lashes are craving a product that can coat without clumping, add volume without creating the ‘spider leg effect’ and still feel nice and light.

Smashbox have never done me wrong, and the bar was set very high!

Do you see how thick and luscious the brush is?! I have been wanting to try out a truly full-bodied new brush for ages, and was thrilled to see my chance had arrived courtesy of Smashbox.

Here’s a quick close-up of the brush:

Divine!

I started out with a totally make-up free eye area (to show you the full effect of the mascara). I also didn’t curl my lashes, which is usually an essential step for me – I wanted to truly test what this little beauty is capable of on its own!

I applied a few coats of the Full Exposure mascara, and loved that it allowed me to build up my volume without any sign of a clump. Just what I’ve been looking for!

Here’s the finished result:

Much better! I am so pleased with how this mascara performed, especially considering I missed out the curling step. Imagine what it will look like once I’ve set my eyelash curler to work beforehand!

I have no idea how Smashbox do it, but for me they just get it right every time. The Full Exposure Mascara retails for £20 and I would buy it in a heartbeat – life’s too short for lame mascaras!

Which Smashbox products can you just not do without? Let me know!

Stay Creative,

Sorry but I’m getting a little bored with Smashbox. It’s not a brand I can afford.
