Lipstick is definitely my lip products of choice – glosses tend to get on my nerves, and stains can be a bit of a pain to remove. When I received a kind package from Smashbox a few days ago, I was thrilled to spot the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Pretty Social in the mix!
I had never tried a Smashbox lipstick before, but my first impressions were fantastic. I loved the packaging, and thought the name was very fitting for a blogger!
The shade also looked beautiful, and was actually represented on the outer packaging. I think this is a great move, and something more brand should think about adopting.
I was very excited to read that the lipstick contains moisturising ingredients too – including things like shea butter – as my lips are super dry. So many lipsticks look terrible on me as they cling to drier parts of my lips, but hoped that this one would glide on smoothly.
The shade is a beautiful rose pink, just the kind of thing I’d wear in the daytime!
I hadn’t applied a lip balm for a good few hours before putting the lipstick to the test, so expected my lips to be a little dehydrated. However, when I came to apply Pretty Social I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was soft, smooth and silky!
Here’s how it looked on my lips – I think I may have a new favourite shade!
It is just the right shade of pink for me – not too pale so that it makes me look ill (which, being so pale, is quite easy to achieve) but not dark enough that I need to check it in a compact every 5 minutes.
It contains an ideal amount of gloss, but doesn’t feel at all sticky. I actually feel like I’m wearing a balm rather than a lipstick, which is just fine by me! The lipstick retails for £15.50, which fits well with Smashbox’s general pricing.
