For me, beauty is all about trying new things, learning new techniques and making the most of your products. I really put those factors to the test when reviewing the new China Glaze Nail Polish in Too Yacht To Handle, taken from the Sunsational collection!
The shade, although very summery and reminiscent of mint ice cream (my favourite), isn’t the kind of thing I’d usually go for. It is lacking my usual rocker edge and – let’s face it – glitter! However, I do like to give everything a fair shot and decided to put it to the test.
From past experience with these China Glaze polishes, I knew they were very sheer and decided to use a white base coat underneath. I hoped that it would help the colour to pop, and bring out its true potential.
After applying my white base, I popped on two coats of Too Yacht To Handle Even after the first, I noticed a HUGE difference and improvement from the other Sunsational polishes – it seems the base coat is the key to making these shades totally divine!
Two coats in, and my nails were done. I never thought I’d say this about a pastel-style shade, but I ADORE the finished result!
I really am thrilled with how my nails turned out – I am so super excited to re-try the other Sunsational shades using the white base coat! I still have one more polish from the collection to review for you, but for now I’ll be enjoying my summer-perfect look courtesy of Too Yacht To Handle.
A big thank you once again to BeautyBay for sending me these polishes to review!
