For someone who doesn’t like to spend too long on their daily look, I was intrigued to spot all of the 3 Minute Makeup Challenge videos buzzing around YouTube. It really got me thinking about how long it really takes me to get ready, and I decided to put it to the test!
So many of you had asked me to do the challenge that I couldn’t resist filming it. I lined up my products, set my stopwatch and got to work!
I started off with my Smashbox BB Cream (review coming tomorrow!) which evened out my complexion. I decided to leave it at that for my face – when you’ve only got 3 minutes, you can’t be too much of a perfectionist!
Moving on to eyes, I picked up my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and swept it across my eyelids. Using the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, I then whisked up a quick eyeshadow look using Foxy and Pistol (not Piston, as I misread in the video!)
I topped off my eyes with a slick of my Jemma Kidd Stay Put Define Eyeliner in the waterlines and a cheeky coat of my Barry M Lash Vegas mascara. Here was the result!
Apologies – I’m not asking to be fed, contrary to how the photo appears!
By that time, my 3 minutes was up. If I had had slightly longer, I would have also added my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Natural Collection Green Concealer and Simple Kind To Lips Intensive Lip Moisturiser!
I thought the challenge was super fun, and really opened my eyes as to how long I spend on my ‘going out’ make up. I’m going to make a conscious effort to speed things up a little and not fuss too much about the little details!
Have you taken the 3 Minute Makeup Challenge? If so, feel free to post yours as a video response to mine!
