My bareMinerals Make-Under Experience!

Last week, I was super excited to be invited along to my local bareMinerals counter (Manchester Exchange Square Harvey Nichols) for a Make-Under! It was a chance to learn a little more about bareMinerals and see their products in action.

I was greeted by the lovely Hannah, who started by chatting to me about my usual make up look and what I’d like to achieve. I emphasised that I like to embrace my pale skin and not worry too much about bronzing (it just doesn’t work for me!) and also that my dry skin requires a non-drying foundation formula.

We started with the Prime Time Neutralising Primer (£21) which helped to conceal the redness I get on my cheeks and around the nose. Hannah then picked out the perfect foundation shade for me in the pressed formula – the Ready Foundation in shade R130 (£25).

The foundation applied smoothly, although you really do have to blend it in order for it to melt into the skin. Once it does, however, it looks beautiful! We then moved on to  the Warmth Bronzer (£19) which Hannah used to very lightly contour my face, and finished with the Mineral Veil (£20) to set the look.

For the eyes, we used one of the bareMinerals duos in Cliff Hanger (£19). I love the fact that the eyeshadows are all in duo format, as I always say you can achieve a great look with just two shades. Hannah applied the lighter shade onto my lid and the darker one in the outer ‘V’ and blended beautifully.

The look was finished off with the Buxom lipgloss in Amber (£18) – psst, stay tuned to my blog to hear much more about bareMinerals lip shades in the coming days!

So, how did the finished result look? Let’s take a look! (Please do ignore my hair, I got caught without an umbrella in a huge rain shower on the way home!)

I am super happy with how my Make-Under turned out! I felt truly made under, and didn’t feel like I had any make up on whatsoever. I wish I had taken the photo pre-lunch, as the gorgeous lip gloss had worn off when I got home. The only thing I would mention is that the foundation looked a little dry around my nose, but my skin is exceptionally dry anyway.

If you’re looking to make the move over to bareMinerals, I’d definitely recommend visiting your local counter and seeing what it’s all about. They also have amazing customisable starter kits like one below to get your beauty routine underway:

Thank you so much to Hannah and the bareMinerals team for my Make-Under – I loved it!
