Review: Johnny Concert Glamour Narcissistic Lipsticks

Johnny Concert is an American independent make up brand which specialises in being organic, cruelty-free, eco-friendly and also carrying vegan products. Those elements are good by themselves, but together they are awesome! The company contacted me to do a review of a few of their products, and this blog post will focus on the samples of the Narcissistic Lipsticks they kindly sent me. The full review will take place on my YouTube channel, as many of you have been keen to see reviews in both places!

Narcissistic Lipstick in Star Killer – $22

I first saw this gorgeous little lipstick on the website, and fell in love with the colour. This is obviously a sample size – the full sized product can be seen on the site. So, my first impressions were good, as the colour looked as good in the stick form as the photo.

And it looks great on the lips too! The thing I adore about this product (apart from the colour!) is the fact that is is sheer and build-able. If it was a block colour, I imagine I would have been slightly put-off, as it could look overpowering. Fortunately, I could build up from a sheer wash of colour to this bolder one, and I love it! It is so iridescent and, I have to admit, kind of made me feel like cupcake frosting. Which is always a win.

Narcissistic Lipstick in Glampire – $22 (assumed)

I was very excited to be getting a preview of an upcoming Johnny Concert release – the Narcissistic Lipstick in Glampire! I have stated the price as ‘assumed’ as I am guessing that it will follow the $22 lipstick price range. I have been on the hunt for a deeper/plum coloured lipstick for a while, so I couldn’t wait to try it out!

Again, this product was super sheer at first – I couldn’t quite work out whether that was a good thing with this shade or not. After a little pondering, I decided that it was again a positive. Plum is a tricky colour to pull off, and by being able to build the colour up to your own preference, you won’t be left with just one block shade. The fact that it is a little shimmery is also amazing, as it means you can really get away with a more sheer layer of product. It felt pretty!
