Review: Lush Marilyn Hair Treatment

If I ever wondered whether beauty products deserve a second chance, I am wondering no more. Today’s review is on a product that I initially hated and regretted buying, but after a second use I have fallen in love with it!

The product in question is theΒ Lush Marilyn Hair Treatment – a pre-wash treatment for blonde hair to help eliminate brassy and orange tones!

To say that I thought it sucked at first is an understatement – I was livid with myself for spending Β£8.95 on something that I didn’t feel worked for me. It has been sitting in my bathroom for a little while now, and I decided to give it another go today!

Now if you’ve ever seen a photo of me, you’ll know how long my hair is – the assistant in Lush told me that I’d probably get 2/3 treatments out of the pot. I actually got 2, plus one that my sister used! So she was just about right.

The only peeve I have with this product is the same as the first time round – it has a very strong smell, and kind of reminds me of gin (which I hate and despise with all my heart). I tried to overlook that this time, as I know that scent is a very personal thing!

I applied the treatment to my hair, root to tip, and piled it on top of my head per the instructions. Apologies for this atrocious photo of me, dressing gown and all!

Don’t I just look gorgeous? πŸ˜‰

I kept it on for around 45 minutes – the length of the episode of Breaking Bad I watched whilst it was doing its thing! The first time I used it I only kept it on for around 15 minutes, and the extra time really made all the difference.

Here’s my hair after being washed, conditioned and blow dried!

I don’t know why I look so miserable in this photo – I was actually super happy with my hair! It has totally refreshed and renewed the blonde tones, and really had eliminated any brassy tones. I am so glad I gave the Marilyn Hair Treatment another chance!

I do think it is a little pricey, but will probably purchase it again in the future. I wish I’d keep my last portion for a special event now, as I didn’t expect it to work so well! I’ll just have to find an excuse to show off my fresh new look πŸ˜‰

Which Lush hair products would you recommend? I’m always on the look out for new things!

Stay Creative,

I have never tried lush hair products but recently fell in love with their skin care products! I am not sure if you can get it there but the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque is awesome for conditioning. It’s quite expensive for the big pot but I’ve used it 4 times now and you can’t tell I’ve used up any. Hope your having a good day. πŸ™‚

I’m a big fan of Lush (I swear by tneir Dark Angels cleanser/scrub and their lip scrubs) and I think my favourite hair product by them wastheir shampoo called, I think, Big. it’s the volumising one that has chunks of sea salt in it. left my hair feeling really clean, and it has a Ocean-y, frshsmell to it . I have shortish hair, which is very fine and very straight, and it did seem to add a bitof oomph to my hair x
