We’d all like a little bit more volume to our hair, wouldn’t we? I know I personally love having a bit more body to my hair, but with it being so long I don’t like to keep backcombing it to give it the height. That’s why I was thrilled to receive this little bottle in the post…
It is the Structure Dust Matte Hair Powder by Joico. I loved the design on the packaging instantly – it looks powerful and just totally different to most other beauty brands out there. There’s nothing like a breath of fresh air in the beauty world!
The little bottle itself reminds me of an energy drink ‘shot’ bottle!
The idea is that the powder not only gives lift to the roots of the hair when sprinkled close to the scalp, but absorbs excess oil – this makes it act like a dry shampoo. It can be used on both damp and dry hair, but I’ve been using it on just dry hair.
I was going to wash my hair this morning, but thought I’d try this product out and rate it on both actions – the volume element and the ‘refreshing’ element.
Here’s how I looked after just a small sprinkle of the Structure Powder (a little really does go a long way!)
As you can see, I have a kind of small beehive effect going on at the back of my head – so it’s a huge tick in the box for the volumising aspect of the product! My hair also looks super fresh and clean, so the oil absorption element also works brilliantly.
The product retails for between £10-12, which appears quite expensive compared to other similar products but I can’t stress how little you need to achieve great results. This has pride of place amongst my hair products at the moment – I adore it!
It is hours and hours since I first put the powder onto my hair and there is still definite volume there. If I run my fingers through it, I can push the roots upwards again and it looks as good as new. Love it!
Have you tried out the Structure Dust Matte Hair Powder? What do you think of it?
