I hate the phrase ‘New Year’s Resolutions’. People make very empty promises to themselves that they know they can’t keep, and I haven’t made a ‘resolution’ for a few years now.
Instead I like to set goals – to me, a goal is something that you aim for rather than just click your fingers and expect to happen (e.g. the classic “I’m going to stop eating junk food NOW” resolution)
My goal for every years is always to make the new year even better than the last. I have had this goal for the past 3 years and I love it!
However, this year I have decided to make a few more goals to give me direction for the year ahead. Here we go!
Work harder than ever on my freelance presenting career
I believe in doing what you truly love, and presenting is one of my biggest passions. I am going to work my socks off this year on really making my career take off!
Get fitter and stay that way!
I’ve already lost over a stone since the summer (you can see my excitement in the photo above!) I still have a little way to go, but this is no empty promise. I’m already looking forward to exercising again!
Finish the secret project I’ve been working on…
Obviously I can’t say too much about this one, but I have been working on a very exciting project for the past few months. I hope to finish it this year…watch this space!
Stay true to myself
As much as the world wants you to be boring and normal, don’t fall into the trap. If you want to visit Outer Mongolia, do it. If you want to dress like a rockstar, do it. If you want to take photos with golden llamas, do it. Life’s too short. As my mum always said, the world is your lobster!
I wish you all a happy and fun-filled New Year!
