I haven’t been totally happy with the look of my teeth for a long while – pretty much since I can remember! I am lucky that they are very straight but they are also naturally more on the yellow side.
I decided to bite the bullet and go for a professional whitening system. I have tried all of the toothpastes under the sun and none of them have provided a lasting result, so I felt that this was the only way! I used the Safe Whitening system which I got from my dentist.
I made a video on my YouTube channel all about the experience, and showed you some ‘before’ and ‘after’ shots! Let me explain more about how it worked…
The dentist made a imprint of my teeth, which was then made into these gun shield-like trays. I had 8 pods of the whitening gel, and each pod lasted for 2 nights. I filled the very bottom of each tray with the gel every night and kept it in for 2 hours.
In terms of sensitivity, my teeth have generally been OK as I’ve used Sensodyne toothpaste – whilst in the process of whitening, I did get some twinges at the bottom of my teeth which were quite painful, but quickly went away. It was always towards the end of the 2 hours too, so I didn’t have to put up with it for long.
I would absolutely recommend going to your dentist for a whitening programme rather than trying anything else – I am happy with the results! I got the system on offer for £199 rather then the usual £250, and that is probably the maximum I would have paid for it.
I’m more than happy to answer any questions you have about my teeth whitening experience, as I know how helpful it can be!
