Review: 17 Tattoo Me Liquid Eyeliner

As much as I love eyeliner, something I dislike about it is it smudging. If you’re trying to make your eye make up look last the day, you don’t want to be looking in the mirror half way through and finding out it’s half way down your cheek! This is my review of the 17 Tattoo Me Liquid Eyeliner, which is semi-permenant.

The eyeliner claims to have a 48 hour wear life – I would personally never wear it for that long as I religiously take my make up off each night, but it’s impressive nonetheless!

The brush is quite fine, which is something I really like. Classic liquid eyeliner brushes never work very well for me, so this was a nice change!

I have actually tried this eyeliner on my eyes, but wanted to do more of an experiment for this review. I decided to draw a (bit of a dodgy-looking) star on my hand with the eyeliner and test how tattoo-like it really is!

Here is the star I drew (don’t laugh):

I waited for it to dry to give it a fair chance, then gave it a really hard scrub with my finger. I wanted to see whether it would smudge or flake off, and I was pleased with the results!

So as you can see, the star kept it’s general shape nicely and only blurred slightly in the middle. It  dries to a relatively matte finish which is nice, and very classic. I did manage to get the eyeliner off my hand with my trusty Simple Cleansing Wipes, which is a bonus, but it does take a bit of scrubbing to get it off.

If you don’t mind your eyes getting rubbed a bit, this is a fantastic product to try out. It retails for £4.99 from Boots.

    Hey Chyaz;
    I bought this eyeliner after seeing you use it in a couple of videos. The reason I bought it was to draw my eyebrows on, trust me its not as weird as it sounds, but I found it really gloopy and the brush I thought was alot thicker than regular liquid eyelinar brushes. I must say it was alot easier on my eye lids, although I still found it really gloopy. I really wouldn’t recommend it for drawing small details. However, I was impressed by how well it stayed on. This is definatly I eyelinar for wearing at gigs, when it is really put to the test to stay in place, but I wouldn’t wear it everyday, because it is just to thick.

    I love this liquid eyeliner! It’s so amazing and really does stay. I wish it could come in a different style brush, I can’t work well with brushes like this, I prefer the shorter ones for more control. If you want to be able to take it off easier, use an oil based eye make up remover (: xx
