Nail of the Day: Black & Blue Glitter

I haven’t done a Nail of the Day post inĀ forever, so thought it would be a great one to do today. When painting my nails a few days ago with the Barielle Nail Polish in Berry Blue, I felt that they needed jazzing up a little. The polish is gorgeous on its own…

But I love a bit of sparkle, and as it’s November the party season is almost upon us! I was looking through my extensive collection of glitter polishes (I admit it, I’m addicted!) and came across this old favourite:

Black Blue Glitter

It is the OPI Nicki Minaj Nail Polish in Metallic 4 Life. It has silver glitter running all the way through it (the sparkles go from tiny specks to chunky circles) although the polish itself is a sheer black.

I didn’t know how the two would work together, as I imagined the black of Metallic 4 Life would cover up and literally 0ver-shadow the Berry Blue beneath. When painting my nails I was quite careful to make sure that I didn’t apply too much of the OPI varnish – I just wanted to make sure that the sparkles were evenly distributed.

Here is the result!

I think you can definitely see the blue shade beneath (certainly in the right light) and I adore the finished effect. It has proved my theory that you can never go wrong with a little bit of glitter on your nails!

Whilst we’re on the subject of nails, I’d love some advice from you guys! I am due to get shellac nails done in a few weeks, in preparation for my birthday – what colour do you think I should get? I was thinking a hot pink, possibly with some glitter thrown in (hey, it’s me!). I’d love your thoughts!

Stay Creative,

Try OPI Let’s Get Star-ted. It has purple glitter and stars. And paired with about any base colour it will look fantastic.
