Review: Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes

I always get excited when I receive products to review in the post, but there was one arrival this week that got me just itching to try out! It is the Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes Mascara – it promises to instantly lengthen lashes by up to 5mm!

The idea of the product is that you apply a coat of mascara, pop this over the top and then seal in with a second coat of mascara. Something I instantly liked is that it doesn’t trick you into purchasing a second product just to work with it – it claims to work well with any mascara!

I adore the packaging – no, the tube isn’t this big! It is contained within this cardboard holder, which is adorable. (My brain is telling me to write “it’s like it’s in a little house!” but I don’t want to. Oh. Oops)

As soon as I heard about this product, I was so intrigued as to what it would look like and how it would work. As soon as I saw the brush, I was a little shocked! It looked like it was covered in cotton wool, and I suddenly understood how it worked…

It was time to put it to the test! Here is what my lashes looked like beforehand:

I added one coat of my Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara (I chose one that doesn’t necessarily give a lot of volume or length on its own to really see the effects of the Magnifibres!)

I then applied a coat of the Magnifibres with my eyes looking down (as per the instructions). My lashes looked quite odd afterwards!

It was time for my second coat of mascara – I probably applied the equivalent of two coats. This is how my lashes turned out!

I have to admit that whilst my lashes did look thicker and have more volume, I wasn’t overwhelmed by the result. I thought that maybe I hadn’t applied enough of the Magnifibres product to my lashes, so tried again on the other eye…

That’s more like it! I was much more impressed with my second attempt. I think I just need to practise a little more with the product and really coat it onto the lashes when I use it. I do think that the mascara is a great invention, and although I don’t think my lashes look like falsies in the end, they do look longer and thicker!

The Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes wand retails for £20 and will shortly be available in Selfridges!

What do you think of this product? I’d love to know!

Stay Creative,

Does it come with multiple brushes? Or once it runs out is there a way to add fibers to the brush? It just doesn’t seem like it would last very long…

Just the one brush – I totally get why you’d think that, but it does seem that there is something in the tube…I’ll keep you posted! x
