Review: John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Conditioner

I always think that a good conditioner should be thick, hydrating and effective – don’t you just love it when you find one that has all three elements? Whilst working in the John Frieda room at the Boots Conference last week, I was kindly given this little gem to try out, and I fell in love! It is the John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Conditioner.

This is the mini version, which is why the bottle looks a little stout! I used it in conjunction with the matching shampoo after a day of heated tools being used on my hair, so I knew that a good conditioning session was in order.

As soon as I squeezed some of the product onto my hand, I could tell how thick it was – I have extremely long hair and only needed a small amount to spread through the lower two thirds of my hair. I felt like it was actually sinking into the hair rather than just sitting on top of it, like many other conditioners.

It’s no lie that the conditioner is hydrating – although my hair isn’t particularly dry or oily, it worked wonderfully on my hair and left it looking soft and smooth until the next wash.

As for the anti-frizz factor of the product, I did actually notice that my hair had less static. I don’t particularly have a problem with frizz but if I still managed to notice a difference it must do a good job!

The full sized conditioner costs around £5.89 – if you have a problem with frizz, I would absolutely recommend that you give the shampoo and conditioner combination a try. If you tend to use more conditioner than shampoo, the fact that the conditioner is so thick (and therefore you might need to use less) could even this out in terms of buying new bottles!
