So you all know that I have a huge weakness for nail polishes…when I spotted some pretty new bottles on the Barry M counter in Boots, I was intrigued! I told myself that I would only buy one, so I went for the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blood Orange!
I’m not usually one for red nail polishes, but the thought of a gel-style red really appealed to me. At under £3.00 too, there was no question that I was going to try the polish out!
I applied a base coat, as the colour looked super pigmented in the bottle, and applied the first coat. I can genuinely say that I could have left it at one coat! The colour was so opaque and looked super shiny straight away.
It is going to take all of my willpower not to drive back to Boots and pick up all of the other shades in this range! I’ve already converted my mum to the Gelly polishes, and we’re both rocking the same red nails!
I’ve had the polish on my nails for a good three days and it has barely chipped – bear in mind that I am incredibly clumsy, so this is a real achievement! I also feel that it has been quite strengthening, as my nails haven’t peeled or broken at all.
As someone who would probably never try real gel nails, this is an amazing (and affordable!) alternative – no one is claiming that the polish will last as long as gel nails, but the effect is pretty close in my opinion.
If you’ve tried out the new Barry M Gelly polishes, I’d love to know what you think!
